We just got this email from the School Committee about a meeting tonight to continue discussions on revised Allocation and Override budgets.? It is in the Frazier Room at the Education Center, on Walnut Street. Parents who have enrolled to get the emails would have also received this information directly from the School Committee.






We encourage all parents and interested community members to take advantage of this opportunity to hear from the School Committee.

We hope Cabot community will use every opportunity to learn about the two school budgets (Allocation and Override) in order to make an informed decision about the override vote on May 20, 2008.? Please encourage your neighbors as well.






FY09 Budget Update 
The School Committee is in the process of reviewing and passing modified Allocation and Override budgets.? The bottom line of both budgets has changed.? The Allocation budget has increased by slightly more than $1 million due to extra money allocated by the Legislature and a lowered health insurance premium.? The Override budget bottom line was set by the Mayor as $8.5 million of the $12 million placed on the ballot by the Board of Aldermen.? The School Committee has scheduled meetings on Monday, March 31 at 5:00 p.m. and Monday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. to finish these deliberations.?Public comment is welcome at the April 7th meeting.?
