Cabot School Fair Rocks!
What a great day we enjoyed at the Fair! With favorable weather conditions
lots of families enjoyed the many, many attractions of the Cabot Fair. On
behalf of everyone in the Cabot Community, Mary Kathryn & I would like to
say a huge thank you to Fair chairs Sue Sagan & Laura Dreese and their
families. Sue and Laura did an outstanding job of organizing this event to
ensure it passed without a hitch - THANK YOU!!

Cabot School Council Welcomes New Members!
We would like to welcome our 3 new parent members on the School Council
Virginia Dean, Jay Schwartz and Jim Robertson who will serve on the School
Council as parent members for a 2 year term beginning in September 2007. We
are fortunate to have them and would like to thank them for stepping forward
to volunteer. As the new school year progresses the School Council will
update the community on the issues they decide to address.

Wednesday, May 9 is School Nurse Day

Since 1972, School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses.
National Nurse Week is always May 6-12 to coincide with the birthday of
Florence Nightingale, the founder of nursing. The Wednesday within National
Nurse Week has been established as National School Nurse Day. This year
that date is Wednesday, May 9th. School nurses believe children must be
healthy to learn and they take pride in their role as

part of an interdisciplinary school team. The Cabot PTO believes that
students in the Newton Public Schools benefit from having a nurse in every
school. So when you are in school today please take a moment and thank Cabot
Nurse Karen Kerrigan for all she does to help keep our children safe!
