Dear Cabot Families:

Great news! So far we have received contributions from 74 Cabot families!
Thank you so very much to those families for getting the Campaign off to a
nice start. It represents nearly 25% of our families here at Cabot. This
year we are aiming to have as close to 100% of our families participating in
the Campaign. To get us closer to that goal we thought it would be
motivating to end the year with the nice round number of 150 families
contributing. Because then we could end the year close to the 50% mark in
terms of participation and I am a firm believer in the power of
participation.

Do you know the expression "every mikkle mek a mukkle?" It's a very
powerful saying that has both Jamaican and Scottish roots which basically
means that every little bit counts toward the bigger goal. Large donations
are terrific and so are many smaller donations. Every donation is welcomed!
The PTO will spend $133 for every student at Cabot school this year. Using
that as a guide please give whatever you can.  Cabot is a diverse community;
in monetary terms some can afford to give more, and others less. Our goal is
to move towards our target of $24,000 encouraging EVERY family to contribute
- whatever the amount. We really want to focus on encouraging every family
to participate whatever the amount. Each and every contribution to the
Campaign is your vote that what the PTO does for our children is enriching
and worthwhile.

The PTO has postponed sending out "official" reminder letters for the
Campaign for Cabot until early January. We're hoping that more families
will make contributions before then so that we'll have fewer "reminder"
letters to send. So, if you haven't sent in your contribution, please
consider doing it now. If you can't find the donor card don't worry. Just
write your check payable to Cabot PTO, identify any faculty and/or teachers
that you wish to honor with your contribution on a piece of paper and pop
that into an envelope marked Cabot PTO. Send it in your child's backpack or
drop it into the PTO mailbox in the office. In addition, doing this before
the years end means you will be able to deduct this contribution from your
2006 taxes.

We wish you and your families all the best this holiday season and hope you
enjoy a happy and healthy 2007!

Thank you,

Jo & Mary Kathryn
