A huge thank you to all of you who took the time to attend both Monday's
meeting & the meeting last night at Oak Hill Middle School. Cabot had a
great showing at both meetings! At last night's interactive forum the School
Committee got to hear the thoughts & comments of approx. 15 public speakers,
6 of which represented Cabot. Your voices were well & truly heard!
Thanks also to those of you who have taken the time & trouble to email your
thoughts & questions to the School Committee. They re-iterated at both of
these meetings their desire to hear from the public about their thoughts,
preferences & concerns regarding the outlined options & any additional
options you might have that they have not identified.
To find out what happened at the meeting you can watch, record, TIVO or
whatever a rerun on NEWTV's red channel. They will be broadcasting the
meeting Monday - Friday at 8am, Tuesday - Friday at 12 midnight & Saturday &
Sunday at 7.30pm. For further information go to
http://www.newtv.org/program.html
The PTO & the Political Issues committee is hard at work assessing our next
steps so keep your eyes open for any emails with "SPACE CRUNCH" in the
title! If you would like to join us in our efforts please contact Mary
Kathryn marykathf at aol.com or myself, or Sarah Ecker sarahecker at comcast.net
our Political Issues chair. In the interim use this time to get yourself
acquainted with the options the School Committee is going to be assessing.
Remember your opinion does really count so make your voice heard.
Can't find our summary or want to find out exactly what the options document
said - go to
http://www.newton.k12.ma.us/schoolcommittee/actions/elem_space.html & see
the report for yourself.
