"Reading Partners" program need volunteers

This year with the help of our Litereracy specialist, Phyllis Benjamin, the PTO is organizing Reading Partners for grades 1-3 this year. The following teachers have expressed interest in having partners in the classroom:

Grade 1: Heidi Lucas;Allison Forseter; and Matt Miller

Grade 2: Marc Lacatell

Grade 3: Abby Bargende; and Susan Yorio

The reading partner would come in once or twice a week for about a half hour block during the literacy block of the classroom they sign up for. Ms. Benjamin would be training the volunteers and provide a refresher.  We will provide the each teacher's reading block schedule. It is expected that the parent will not be in their child's classroom.

Please contact us ASAP at auvpto@aol.com so that we can jump start this important program as soon as possible.

Cabot School Forms need to be returned
During the second week of school every family was given information which needed to be completed & returned to school. These forms were packaged in a booklet with a checklist on the cover instructing every family which forms were required to be returned.
While it is important for the School office to have all student records complete it is imperative for them to have the first 3 forms. Every student at Cabot needs these forms to ensure that family members will be notified during an evacuation or emergency situation at Cabot.

What do you need to do?  Check your piles of papers to find these documents, complete & return them as soon as possible. If you are unsure whether you have returned these forms please check with your child's teacher.
